Dum De Dum Da Dum

Actually should title this post Dumb..de Dumb..as that was me. What the heck is going on? First I notice my horrendous spelling errors these days..(more so than usual!). Then the principal at school tells me some children found a walkie talkie in the hallway and it couldn't be mine as ANYONE could hear it dropping. I'm the schools first aid person so carry it with me as does a handfull of some other staff.

Nope couldn't be mine!! I left mine on top of some white shelves in my room. I go to check..it's gone.  I sheepishly go back to the office and find out some children moved the white shelf needing it as a prop for a play but got the wrong room. Then were told it was the wrong shelf and wheeled the shelves back. "Ah that explains the mystery, they must have dropped it!" I told myself. I felt redeemed.

Until someone points to the couch in my room and there is another walkie talkie..which is dead and says "Is this yours?" Now I'm completely befuddled as to if I'm losing my memory or ? A teacher walks in the room and hands me a walkie talkie and says you left this on my desk when you checked the first aid kit. Yikes - 3 of them? Still puzzling over the mystery ..another call from the office. Something wrong with some reports..nooooo! I've been dating them wrong going back to Nov 11. Yikes, now I have to go to the principal and ask him to initial 8 wks worth of my work.

By now the principal and secretaries are chuckling and I'm praying I can get through the day without another embarressing moment. When I leave I tell them I obviously need to take a nap when I go home. Tomorrow is the last day before Christmas vacation and I'm making chicken wings for everyone for a staff luncheon. I stop at the store...where the heck is my purse?

Noooo I forgot it at school and can't buy anything..no purse!! I call the school...they are now laughing hysterically...umm you forget something?

One more day and I'm off until Jan 8th..think I'm going to catch up on my sleep!

HA HA HA you must be getting older Marianne, I think they call that a "Seniors Moment" but in your case for the day you had "SENIORS DAY"

Thanks for the laugh, I can visualise your day, OH MY....... 8O
and it to will pass Marianne :D
Oh man! Rough day! At least your colleagues seem nice about it. Did you ever figure out how there came to be 3 walkie talkies?? Maybe wait til after xmas before you pull any brain muscle trying to solve the mystery. A little rest sounds like a great idea!
Your spelling errors are intentional, so I won't look like the ONLY dummy here!! I appreciate it!
LOL Marianne... time for a day off!

You know, I think the internet itself fosters bad spelling and grammar. We all speak typoneese fluently...
Hi,

My brain hurts even trying to think of those three walkie talkies and if I was responsible for taking them all. :lmt: ????

I'm also praying that Barney doesn't write something after me, after I heard about her job... :D Doesn't she work for a publishing company and spell checks?

Cough, and I also do it on purpose so not to make Ginny feel bad.

I did nap yesterday and awoke at 6. Noooo I'm late I jumped up and started making coffee, feeding critters..then realized it was 6 pm, not am.

Here goes another day..praying I'll make it through with no mishaps. :plead:
Phew! Thank you Marianne, some days I feel soooooooo dumb! I had one of those days last week, nothing I said or did made sense. Good to know it is just a "bug" going around and a week's rest and a few sugar cookies should solve the problem.
Yea last of school...did you make it???

Thanks for the chuckle..
oh my i feel for you  did you make it through the last day ok
I had the best day!!!

Yesterday, I was almost in tears and what a difference a day makes!!

Granted, I laid low in the staff room today helping to prepare the grand feast for all the staff at the school. I had no students scheduled to see me, nor was I supposed to be in any classrooms assisting them as most took part in carol singing in the morning and parties in the afternoon.

I blew up a gazillion reindeer balloon animals, donned my elf hat and red nose and spred good cheer in the classrooms - which wasn't really planned but I did it anyhow.

What touched me most of all was not the luncheon, nor the gifts I received, but the cards from the children - the words they wrote. The notes of thanks for "helping or understanding them when they needed someone"..OMG!!! That was so special! How can one help but have a wonderful day after that experience. I felt like crying again..but in a good way this time!!
