Drake and Fireworks!

Hi all! Some of you may have wondered were we have been and other may have not but I will let you all know anyway  Well we have been on vacation and really busy with summer time. Drake spent a week at my sister in laws house while we went on vacation with the kids. They just got a golden retiever puppy so needless to say they had their hands full with the two puppies. Drake had a hard time sleeping for the first couple of nights and got out once. They came back to find Drake sitting on the front porch waiting for them. I think next time we travel Drake will spend time at a kennel or go with us.

On the Fourth we went back up to my sister in laws (they live about an hour and a half north of us). While i was packing Drake went nuts and started to go to the bathroom all over the house. He had been doing really well but the suitcase sent him on a rampage. He went to the bathroom in every room of the house. He was fine once I put him in the kennel in the van.

On the 4th we lite off fireworks and Drake loved them. He would sit and wait for my husband to lite one then when it flew into the sky Drake would jump in the air as if he was chasing it and bark. Then he sit done and get ready to chase another one. He also wanted to run throu the smoke after they had went off. We took a little break from the fireworks and the kids ran of to ride our go cart. I had Drake on his leash and was not paying attenting when Drake took off after the kids and ripped the leash from my hand dislocating my middle finger. I am now pecking as I type. I was lucky it went back in place but it is really swollen and sore.

Well it looks like the rest of the summer will be just as busy as the first part so I will be in and out of here (6 baseball games in 10 days and my oldest daughter has surgery on her ear next Monday for example) every so often. Take care all 8)

 Ron I do to but I was to busy holding on to Drake and trying to keep the kids back to take pictures  A mom only has ten hands :D

My husband now calls Drake Firecracker. Never thought of the herding instinct, to funny. I guess that means Drake tries to herd raindrops to  8)
Yes, we missed you and Drake!
I am glad Drake had such a great time with the fireworks. I am sorry to hear about your finger. Jack did the same thing...I was talking and Jack took off chasing the kids. My shoulder hurt for a long time and I went to the doc about 2 weeks ago and he said I had 2 tears in my rotor cuff. I am sure Jack didn't do that, but I doubt that he helped it either. :?
Where did you vacation at? How scary that Drake got out! I am glad that he was safe and sound.
I will keep your daughter in my thoughts. And go out and win those 6 games! LOL  Take care and keep all 10 arms and 100 fingers intact! Stormi and co.
