Sonny's registered name

Amber and I have been brainstorming on ideas for a registered name for Sonny. We know this boy is going to be spectacular, and we're very excited about showing him. I really think he's the "one" you know? The dog you only hope will come along someday and knock your socks off.
We decided to put up a poll of our top choices, and welcome opinions on those choices or any other ideas you can come up with.
The things to keep in mind that we would like to convey in his name are that he is something really special, the fact that I have been waiting forever for my boy, and that Amber is thrilled to have produced this fabulous dog who we have been waiting for

I like Blueshire's Prodigal Son. The other ones kind of sound like the second coming of Jesus.
I liked the 1st and 2nd one because of the way it sounded when said aloud. The last one didn't have a lot of meaning to me (not as special to me like a long awaited one).

Prodigal Son sounds cool, but I don't like the meaning......
#4 gets my vote :D

Not the Jesusy meaning, just the word:

–adjective
1. wastefully or recklessly extravagant: prodigal expenditure.
2. giving or yielding profusely; lavish (usually fol. by of or with): prodigal of smiles; prodigal with money.
3. lavishly abundant; profuse: nature's prodigal resources.
Yaayy!! Blueshire's Son of the Dickens received a vote! Sonnys fathers name is Dickens, and every time I say that registered name it makes me laugh! See Stacey, I'm not the only one who likes it! LOL :D

That's what I thought of right away as well. Love "son of the Dickens" so I voted for that one.
I like Son of the Dickens too since it's his sire's name. Sounds cool. :D
Any other ideas?
It was tough but I did vote on the last one.
I pivcked the first, cause that's what he is. Warning warning watch out for the "prodigal" idea. Dogs always end up filling out their names (As evidenced by all my animals, esp my big fuzzy "Mischevious Took!")
I voted for the first name...the other ones didn't seem to fit as well and the last one sounded corny to me
Thanks for the vote of "Corny" :o

Anyways, I think we have stumbled onto something even better.

Thank you!!! LOL

*sticks tongue out at Amber* :P

And NO I didn't pay her to say that! 8)
The first one was my first choice, the last one was Amber's first choice LOL

The new suggestion of "History Starts Now" is pretty cool. Kind of gives me goosebumps. LOL
OMG that is TOOOOO funny....Stacey is right Amber...I haven't even talked to her about this....

History....

Sure Sure Sure....LOL
Is his pet name definately going to be Sonny?

If so then what about

"Blushire Sonny Future"

That's looking ahead to a bright and wonderful future with him.

Sorry, but I don't like any of the names in the poll...

But this is something to work with:

Blueshires Bright Future or

Blueshire's the Future Looks Bright or

Blueshire's Future is Present

or something along that line....

And Sonny could be Sunny, too...
Blueshire's into the Future

Blueshire's Futurama (had to throw that one in as love the cartoon   )

Blueshire's Future Folly

Are we confusing you even more? 8)

Blueshire's Run Ronnie Run (that's one for the Boss  )
We need a new thread, Lisa! :twitch:

Blushire's Back to the Future

Blushire's Future Son (Sun)

Blueshire's Rising Son (Sun)

Blueshire's House of Rising

:bulb: :bulb: :bulb:
Those are all great suggestions... :)
In that case, I'd so with Blueshire's Future's So Bright I Gotta Wear Shades
or even just Future's So Bright.
Just to add more confusion!!! 8) Something from the classics......

Blueshire's Great Expectations

Blueshire's Wuthering Heights

Blueshire's Pride-N-Predjudice

Blueshire's Pickwick Papers

Blueshire's Sense-N-Sensibility

The first three just sounded too..........Biblical!!!!!!!!!!
"Blueshire's Son Of The Dickens" still sounds the best :D
I like Jill's idea of Blueshire's Future's so Bright I Gotta Wear Shades...

Or Maybe...

Blueshire's Made in the Shade

or Blueshire's Sonny Days are Here Again

or Blueshire's Worth the Wait

Blueshire's History Starts Now

I like that one!
Actually, the History Starts Now one is really sticking with me...

There is a song, called "World" by the group Five For Fighting, and the chorus goes like this:

"What kind of world do you want?
Think Anything
Let's start at the start
Build a masterpiece
Be careful what you wish for
History starts now... "
Oohhhh...I like that one best, too. :D
So "Dust in the Wind" is out?

What about "Carry on Wayward Sonny"?
LOL Some great suggestions, and thank you all :)

It's decided though...

Just so everyone knows... I decided to change his call name....

When these pups were born, Loki was a name that I had suggested first, and then the breeder had been calling him Sonny, and Rocky for a bit too LOL I stuck with Sonny at first because he seemed too calm, quiet and sweet to be a "Loki" WELL! LOL He's a little imp, such a saucy attitude, strutting his stuff, getting into everything seemingly just to hear people laugh when this puppy runs off with something almost the size of him...

Anyway, he's Loki.
I LOVE that name! Great Choice!
I think it should be long awaited Son cuz' you've been jonesing for a boy for how long now????? Plus it ties in really well with Sonny.

...oops, nevermind. Just read the rest of this thread. Where have I been?

LOL That's what I had thought at first too... oh well...

After changing his name so much I have no idea what I'm calling him most of the time. I had such a hard time getting into calling him Sonny, I figured it must not be right, he must be a Loki (that and his bratty nature LOL) but now I find myself saying "Sonny, Loki, puppy!!" LOL
Who knows, he may end up just being called Puppy.
Just my 2 cents here...all dogs named Loki that I've known have been girls.

I liked that other name you had...Lord of the Rings????

The name is Loki is cool tho...but you might get him mistaken for a girl??

Considering Loki is a male mythological character, I'm surprised any females have been named Loki... LOL

I've never had a Lord Of The Rings name... ???
See, I had the opposite view. I didn't really like Sonny (didn't fit pic, imho - sorry!!!), so I was stoked when you said you are naming it one of my favorite names!

Loki makes me smile every time I hear it!!! :D
I guess they didn't know that..I didn't until now. I don't read or ususally watch fantasy stuff.

It just think it sounds feminine...sorry

I think the name was Durk or Turk...???sorry can't remember exactly I tried to find it...I remember when I was looking for a name it was a name you liked.

Yes Durc is the name I want to use for a boy someday, but not this boy :)
Durc has very special meaning for me... it comes from The Clan Of The Cave Bear.
Now that you have changed his name, I can say I didn't like the name Sonny either. If you would have kept the name, I would have never said anything about your choice.
I have to admit tho that I had to ask someone who Loki was.... you would think I grew up under a rock....everyone here seemed to know about Loki.....now Durc...that name I knew
