Holiday Drink Ideas?

| How convenient... Oprah just had a special yesterday on holiday parties and she revealed her favorite party drink that she makes. She's in love with this, and was so proud of herself for making these for a party.
from her website: 1 1/2 cups pomegranate juice 2 oz. Absolute Citron vodka OR white tequila 1 oz. Cointreau liquor Cup of ice Optional: Splash of sparkling water Optional: Squeeze of lemon Shake ingredients in a shaker and put in chilled martini glasses. Put pomegranate fruit into glass as garnish. MY FAVORITE DRINK IS AN APPLETINI!!! MY SIL MAKES THE BEST!!! SO THIRSTY NOW!!! BEEN.SO.LONG  |

Reading this thread was a bad idea. I'm dying to go out for drinks now. The girl I hang out with though is mormon, and drinking in front of her is a no-no. Wish I had more friend options. She doesn't' even watch rated R movies. I can't help but crack jokes all the time, which probably makes her feel bad, but it's makes me feel bad that I can't drink, so we're even.  |

They sell mulling spices at Williams Sonoma... Or anything cranberry would be good. What about a cranberry bellini (champagne and cranberry juice)? |

| I'm bringing this old thread back to life! I'm looking for and cannot find what I thought was a punch recipe from someone here on the message board; maybe Sheepieshake? I served it at New Year's Eve 2 years ago (maybe more), and called it "Sheepdog Punch" telling everyone that I got the recipe here. It was a champagne based punch; does anyone recall it??? |
| I'd use just a shot of pome juice and the rest cranberry since pome juice is sooooooo very expensive. Otherwise, sounds yummy! Think of the antioxidants you are getting as your pickle a few brain cells. |
I wanted this recipe because it was Champagne based. I don't like champagne, and we often get gifted bottles. I thought if I made punch for Christmas, I could get rid of a couple of bottles. On a whim, I googled one of the bottles and it turns out its a $350 bottle of Dom Perignon. I'm thinking maybe I won't put it in the punch. I'm also thinking i have NO idea who gave it to us!!!!!  |
