When a sheepie cries

8) During the night, about 12:30 a.m. I couldn't sleep, felt a mild headache coming on. My hubby was awake also, so I suggested that, if he felt like it, we could get dressed and go to Wal Mart and do some Christmas Shopping. Yes, he thought I was insane at first, but then said sure. So, we told my daughter, who was up, where we were going. So off we went. When we returned about 3:30 a.m. Amy told us that Violet started crying when we left. She said she couldn't believe it. Violet was crying in the bedroom and Amy said she heard her crying so she opened the slidding door to the Florida Room and called her outside and Amy said Violet came out and layed down near her feet and continued crying. Amy said she petted and tried to sooth her and she finally stopped crying.

The back story to this is that for the last three years about every three months or so we have had to go to Michigan and leave Violet behind. We usually leave during the night because we ususally are on the first flight out in the morning, so we figure she must have associated us going out to shop at night with us leaving again. I am going to have a really hard time leaving her the next time I have to go. :(

Ps. We did buy her a bitie with some good treats in the middle at Wal Mart so she was super happy to see us when we came home. :D

Awe, what a little sweetie. She needs a huge hug. And give her one from us too. :ghug:

I hear Copper cry when I leave and am out in the garage sometimes. It breaks my heart. Kind of nice though that they love us so much.
Aww poor Violet!!!
Awww poor girl.... she was probably very happy to see you! :)

AWww that's so touching! Violet just loves her mom and dad so much!!

Marianne and the boys

PS you might want to leave her behind a tasty treat such as a Kong stuffed with Peanut Butter next time. That way she might associate your leaving with a treat perhaps?
