Winnie (12 weeks) goes for a swim!

Hi everyone! Winnie went for her first swim this week. We wanted to put her in the pool and show her the stairs so that she knows how to get out (just in case of an emergency). She panicked at first but I held underneath her belly while I let her "doggie paddle" away! It seemed to make her more comfortable. But I don't think she'll be a swimming sheepie... :P

Re: my old post about Winnie's walks: they are going MUCH better! To everyone with little pups who don't want to walk - GET THROUGH IT and DO NOT GIVE IN - it was just a silly stage for Miss Winnie and once she realizes that we are going for a walk no matter what, she starts to enjoy it - especially when we run into other pups! :-)

:P i am so happy to hear that she is doing much better also it takes time but them she will be swimming wanting to swim by herself
That is great that you are helping her get adjusted to the water. Once she starts getting used to the water and what her body feels like in the water, maybe she will start to enjoy the pool. :D Annabelle has figured out the ladder to get into my Mom's pool, she watched my Mom's 7 month Rottweiler climb up and decided she could do it too! So....On July 4, Annabelle learned how to climb a ladder, jump into the pool and doggie paddle. She got tired very quickly though, so I am glad that I was there waiting to help her when she needed it. It is scary to think what could of happened if I wasn't there. Jack would jump up on the side of the pool, but never could make it in. He didn't like the ladder.
YEAH WINNIE! for starting to like her walks, it takes time. In my case it took too long. Jack and Annabelle took awhile to learn heel, then they would forget any commands when new people would approach. They now at 14 months and 11 months old are getting to be great with everything, they were great before, but here lately we have been around big crowds and walking with a lot of kids and people approaching and they still followed through with their commands. I am a very proud sheepie Mommy!
It sounds like you are doing a great job! Stormi and co.
