Help! I'm (over)eating, and I can't stop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

'Tis the season, and all of that, but in the meantime, I have to lay on the bed to zip my jeans!!!!

I have to start preparing myself NOW to start a sensible diet after the first of the year.

I know what's right and what's wrong. I just have to put my mind (and body) to it.

I don't want to start now, because each day, from now until the 1st, tasty delights are showing up in my office, and I will never suceed.
cIn the meantime, I am trying to get more walking time in to try and make me feel better about my fat ol' self! But then again, Saturday starts latke (fried potato pancake) season (Hanukkah!)

Is anyone else out there blowing up?

I think you have been reading my mind, Deborah!!!

Everyday I tell myself I am going to be better, but this time of year has too many tasty treats

It is also so hard to make myself walk when it is dark all the time. Grrr.
The only thing that keeps me from being a total blimp is making a conscious choice. I ask myself "is eating these 4 peanut butter cups worth it?" Usually the answer is NO. Sometimes I make myself wait 15 minutes before I eat something. AFter 15 minutes the craving usually passes.

However, I could never refuse latkes (with either sour cream or applesauce).

Where is the yarmulke emoticon??????
Part of my problem is I would be halfway through my second peanut butter cup before I realized I was eating it 8O

I always put my fork down and try not to eat more than I need, but if I can't get the plate away soon enough I find myself eating more
My problem is, if there is food around, I eat it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:D (no yamuhka or menorah, yet, Paula!)
Me too. I'm the queen of "take that bag of chips away from me and hide it so I won't eat it".

Thankfully my metabolism hasn't slowed down too much yet.... but it's a ticking time-bomb!
JUST SAY NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

I know what you mean, and this is my hardest time of year too because I bake so much and HAVE TO TASTE!!! By taste, I mean eat like 12.

At my last job, there was a 5star dining facility that always had stuff on a table for free (by free, I mean... different offices would pay for it and my hands grabbed some when I walked by). So during the holidays, I would just say no before "taking a peek" to what the office brought in and no before someone asked me to join in. The more I avoided it, the better I felt afterwards. Then when I went to the tables at the end of the day, it was usually empty or only the bad stuff was left.

If you do get some bad stuff on your plate/napkin at the office, ask people if they want one while you walk back to your desk. Hopefully there is only one thing or nothing on your plate by the time you get back to your chair.
Don't stress over it for now, enjoy the holidays and all the wonderful treats that are part of it :)

I think all the wonderful smells and tastes of the holidays are part of making happy memories :)

You can watch what you eat later... 8) :)
i cant fit into my jeans anymore! i blame finals and my boyfriend who has been driving me insane, but all the damn cookies that are everywhere arent helping either!
Heather, I just bought new comfy jeans at Eddie Bauer the end of October. What the heck happened? They are no long comfy!? :excited: Like I said before, I have to lay down to zip 'em up!!!

And...this Sunday we have another big dinner out...not to mention all the nummy stuff that is in my face everyday!

My middle section looks like a melting butterscotch ice cream sundae!!

AAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Where something fitting/tight! That way you'll get stuffed faster and not want to eat as much. Skip the desserts!!!!!!!!! Or even tell your husband to make your plate for you so you don't choose bad foods! I guess it depends on how bad you really want to maintain or lose weight!!!!1
Jeans are SUPPOSED to be comfortable????? ARE you sure????? I dont believe you....lol.....Im saying this while wearing my elastic waisted sweat pants.... :?
:( My sweatpants are my new best friends :(
i know what you ladies mean. My problem is it only gets harded this time of year, but really its hard all year. I was losing the battle, so i got help and signed up with a trainer. EVERY part of my body hurts today. i hurt so much the idea of walking into the break room where the good stuff is too much trouble. Maybe that was his plan all along. but really ouchy.!
Sigh... I did so well over the summer but I've put weight back on in the past 2 months  Jan 1st sounds like a good day to get back on the healthy eating bandwagon. I guess I'd better find a large, festive tent to wear to Christmas Eve dinner
just because i am in the gym now does not mean i won't need a tent too. i will need a few months to see results. God i look at myself and think how did this happen. All of a sudden i am fat. not just puddy but rally fat and it really sucks. So olive has vowed to take me running every day  and we will get in shape together.
Olive's mom, you are so brave to start with a trainer now!!!! I can't believe it.

Bailey's mom, I with you on the Jan 1 thing...although for me it will be Jan. 2, we have a party on the 1st.

Ugh....

Aha! I see you know my personal designer -- Omar the Tentmaker. He has made some loverly things for me using Camelhair and burlap.

If I was hosting Christmas I could do that....but we are going to the inlaws and everyone there over dresses.....
o you guys are funny but really i do wear tent like cloths...and to make it fun i made a matching outfit for olive with a reindeer head set too! if i must look bad i will turn it into a funnt situation. Plus olive will love me even if i embaress her...i hope :?
Isn't it great that these sheepies love us no matter how we act, or what we look like. To them we are brilliant, beautiful uprights!
I know what you guys mean! Esp. Jo! I am baking and I think I have eaten like 2 dozen chocolate oatmeal cookies in the past 3 days! Ugh!

Although, I still blame the tight jeans on the dryer conspiracy!!!
