As long as it's under an ounce. |
This might be a "duh" question, but I always thought you had to go to the post office & get an airmail stamp?? Can you just put regular stamps on the envelopes? |
You can put whatever US stamps you like on them, as long as the total value of the stamps adds up to at least the amount of postage required. |
Postage to Canada is 55 cents for the first ounce Europe is 80 cts for the first ounce. (This info is now dated. Scroll down for current rates) |
I'm going to love when postage goes up, someone finds this thread, and posts the new info. |

If I lived in the USA, I'd be buying a couple of hundred dollars of those "forever" stamps for domestic mail. I wish Canada would screw up and do something like that. |
Postage to Canada is now 69 cents. |

We do have those!! Just buy "permanent" stamps. You buy them at today's value and they'll always be good for the value of that day, so in ten years you can still stick one on and will be valued at one stamp at the current price. AND they're already sticky so you don't have to lick'em :p |
I heard the other day that postage in the US will go up another penny to 42 cents in May. So if you haven't already stocked up on the 41 cent forever stamp, now's the time to do it!! |
You guys have really scary Christmas stamps this year |

Lol. What did you get? |
I keep getting those scary toy things with grinning faces and scary hair. I don't know what they are, just festive toys I suppose.. they look like they are from a horror movie... sorry if they are a national treasure or something.... but they are scary!! |
Nutcrackers |
Yes - the weird little men are nutcrackers. They are german in origin, dating back to the early 1800's. As nuts are a traditional holiday food, the nutcrackers are too. And the Nutcracker ballet (from Russia) is a holiday staple in many areas too. Holiday stamps in the US vary every season and there are usually a couple. One is more religious themed , and one is more fun. (or scary!) |
