The Morning Clyde Report

Due to popular request, I thought I'd check in with a report on Clyde's condition. :)

He's actually doing very well. The stitches look as good as 15 stitches across the belly can look. The drainage has just about stopped and all he has is some normal redness around the incision, nothing swollen or weirdly colored. He's supposed to be "taking it easy," which has proven to be the most difficult part of everything. I've only been taking him on short walks and he's ready to explode! I even took Bear to my mom's on Sunday (which was awesome-- Bear belongs on a farm and that's an adventure story by itself!) to give Clyde some time to rest by himself and when we came home he was so wound up he couldn't control himself. Now we got some snow and those two yahoos want to run and roll around in it, which, last time I checked, again, is not taking it easy!

Clyde thanks you for the concern, although he really doesn't know why there's anything to be concerned about. He seemed to have forgotten that he had surgery by the next day. He's got a goldfish memory.

Glad he's doing well!
Hahaha...Gotta love Clyde! Glad he's obviously feeling better! So did you take any pics of Bear at your parents??
Glad to hear he is doing well :)

LOL @ goldfish memory, that's what we call Panda, the goldfish. LOL
She seems to forget she has already happily greeted anyone who comes home, and acts as if she hasn't seen them in 5 hours instead of 5 seconds.

When do we get to hear Bear's farm adventures?
I'll post a quick thing under antics about Bear-- I started here but I'll wind up highjacking.
Can you hijack your own thread? It's a puzzle, inside a riddle wrapped in an enigma........ 8O
That sounds like our silly boy Clyde!! So glad he's feeling better and healing well. :D
Clyde's stitches came out last night and they said the incision is healing really well. I still think it looks pretty gross but I guess I have to believe the vet.

I also think the vet is either cooking steaks in the back or offering free doggie massage or something because Clyde can't wait to go there. We'll ask him "Ready to go to the vet?" and he gets all excited and runs to the door. When we get there, he's pulling to get in (and he's not normally a puller). He does seem to be pretty popular with the staff but his excitement to get there seems a little extreme just for affection. I know that there must be food involved somehow!
That's a first! I can't imagine a dog enjoying a visit to the vet after getting a shot or surgery. Has to be the treats!
Way to go CLyde, keep healing!!!!!!!!
I am happy to hear that Clyde is healing well.
:)
I am glad to hear Clyde is doing so well and loves the vet. :D
Good for you Clyde - and get the recipe for those vet treats the next time you go in!
The incision is kind of like the poop discussions - an acquired appreciation.
My vet is a pet whisperer. He has taken care of 5 of our dogs and they have all loved to go to see him. The cat, not so much. But we have sent some friends to him and their dogs love him too.
