| I have to say that I'm surprised there's not more in MS. Since rabbit farms are listed also, I'm sad to say my family would have been on that list a few years ago. |

On vacation, we ran out of dog food and went to a local pet supply that we'd gone to on other occasions. This time they had several crates of puppies of various kinds for sale. I asked the store owner where they got the puppies and at first she didn't respond. When I told her I worked with Rescue (and she knew I was irritated about the puppies) she admitted some of the pups were from their personal dogs, some were "on consignment" (backyard breeder) and others were from their "USDA certified breeder" (puppy mill) 
Needless to say, I bought the dog food because it was the only place in town that sold it.  I guarantee I won't be going back to a place that's keeping backyard breeders and puppy mills in business. |
