Brrrrrr, It's cold here!

I am not exagerating either. I woke up to an outside temp of 37 degrees. I'm freezing my butt off. I just had to walk Ryan to the bus.
I am not prepared for weather like this! I walked Ryan to the bus in Sweatpants, a t-shirt, a jacket and flip flops... My feet are still thawing out.
Tonight the temps are supposed to drop to 28! 8O

WOW it is not that cold here!! The temp. is supposed to drop sat and maybe snow wed or thur. Is this unusual for your area?? I would think it would stay warm.
I feel your pain Elissa, it was sooooo windy here yesterday blowing from the north....with the wind chill our low last night was 19.....

NOW who thinks Im a whiney baby???!!!
Yes, That is very unusual weather for here!
I think we had one night of temps that dropped to the high 30's last fall.

I am in the Palm Springs area (the Desert)
It will be 68 degrees today. I cannot believe it's supposed to be 28 tonight! So far since I have been living here, we have never had temps cold enough for snow. It does snow in our local mountains. At a much higher elevation. The temps there are usually 30 degrees colder than here.

Holy crap!! I didn't think Phoenix ever got that cold!! 8O
It was windy here too. I think with our windchill it was 34 degrees.

If I wanted cold weather I would move back to NY!

I do.

Suck it up, whiners. You guys get like 3 days a year like this. We get like 9 months. :P
the high today is only supposed to be 60...the low 36...the winds have died down but let me tell you my space heater is blasting right now....

We had snow about 5 or 6 yrs ago. The kids played in the yard and made a snow man...the snow lasted 2 days...it was very unusual, but very cool....thank goodness i still had my scarf and mittens from my Michigan days..
It's been in the 80s all week here, and a front is moving through & our highs for tomorrow is supposed to be in the low 40s. BRR...too cold! At least they aren't saying "Ice storm" like they were earlier this week. I was worried since Jason left on Wednesday until Sunday, and everything in our house is electric. No electricity = no heat or food and no car to go anywhere since Jason has it! lol
Here's a hint from a cold weather pro. NEVER wear flip flops below 50 degrees. EVER. Put your tennis shoes and your sweater and wind breaker on! It's not so bad. We were 5 degrees this morning... I forgot to put on my scarf  Then I was cold in the car. If it is gonna be cold, the least it could do is snow and cover up this brown grass!

Well said Jill...

Whinny babies!!!

Anything in the 20s is warm here, Pepsi's Mommy!!!!!!!! But I do remember how cold it feels when the temp drops drastically, and being in a warm state. Time to bring out the hot chocolate!!!

But I do think the second it reaches the teens (darcy), it time to whine!!

This is the first year AK has only had very little snow in Nov (so the weather man said). It's been either in the negative digits or low single digits. However, it's warming up now, and snow is going to come any day now. *crosses fingers*
The funny thing about AZ is that the temperature shifts 40 degrees during the course of a normal day. Last night I went out with some friends and when I left the house at 6pm it was 65 degrees. I was wearing a light top and no jacket. When I walked out of the restaurant at 9:30 it was 40 degrees. BRRRRR! I just wasn't prepared for that LOL! You need a whole different wardrobe at night than you do during the day.

And I'm not whining - I love the fact that we get winter at night but have spring during the day. But then again, I still have Chicago blood.

No way-- if you're a cold weather pro, you should be able to wear flip flops in the snow! You build up a tolerance. Many times in the winter I've had to retrieve the dogs in the morning when I was in a rush and I'll go barefoot in the snow. I always find it easier to dry off my feet than snowy shoes.

Exactly. Sue, you're exempt. Darcy and Elissa, you're still whiners.
I agree. Flip flops should be worn until the danger of frostbite! When I first moved here I didn't know any better...I'd always worn flip flops year round, so what could be so different here? All I got was strange looks from people whenever I went, and Southern Ladies saying, Honey, you'll freeze your toes off!

Jill, WHAT did you do to your dogs? I know they are tall and all, but I don't think they constitute Christmas tree substitutes! Are you just decorating them instead?
You must be getting our weather  It's been so warm here all week, it's crazy. It's supposed to cool down overnight though.
POOR THING!!!!!!!!! Come back east and spend a winter in UPSTATE NY if you wanna REALLY see cold!!!!!!!!!!
Jill,

There's no way I'm exposing my skin to cold temperatures. No flip flops under 50!!!! Dress properly girlie!!! Or don't come cryin when ya get frost bite!

Seriously though. I'm a big baby when it comes to the cold. Always have been, always will be. When you see me on cold days, I'm bundled up top to bottom, multiple layers of outerwear if it goes below zero. I'd much rather swelter in the car in my layers then freeze in skimpy clothes when I go outside! I have down comforters on my bed, and a down comforter downstairs by the couch to cuddle under. I just like to be warm!

And for the record, I'm a born and raised Minnesotan, so it's not cause I gre up in a warm climate!
Phew it's hot here  36 celcius today. Air Con on :P
What I hate most about cold weather is the severe storms it brings when it comes through here.

Been there done that!
I want Lisa's weather - just for a day - to make me warm!
The 5 degrees when I got off work this morning was a bit brutal. It was the wind that just took my breath away though. I may have to put the liner in my Columbia jacket soon! It's just like a glorified windbreaker now. Having my airwalk clogs on didn't help either!

I gave up trying to figure out what I was looking at..... 8O
that is hysterical. i love that avatar.
BRRRRR we're still in a deep freeze..sigh I will never say it never snows much here again!

Worse hit is the province next to ours, Alberta. The temperature there dropped so much that the last time it was that low was 1898!! That's right 1898...not a typo!

We got blasted by another storm..urg..more snow, more digging, more stuck cars...yuck I hate snow!!

Bundle up Elissa and take care of yourself!

Yup, I decorated Clyde for Christmas. I don't have to pack him away in the basement when I'm done so it was easier!
thought this would be appropriate. fil just emailed it to me and asked if this ever happened to me.

LMAO....that was so funny!
I can see that happen to me. Good thing I have a bright purple car! There aren't many around.

That's hilarious.

Bundle up Elissa! I'm a huge whiney wus when it comes to being cold. Why do you think I live in the desert and like it?

We are having our second night BELOW freezing :!: 8O

And..... are you ready for this? They said we are getting the cold from
CANADA! Wasn't that in a movie? blame canada?

All kidding aside, stay warm and safe everyone!

From: A big cold whiney wus wearing Ugg boots. BRRRRRRRRR
Jo - That video is hilarious!
Sure.. blame it on the Canadians!!!!
I've had those mornings!!! Although who in their right mind uses their good briefcase to wipe off the snowy car??? My classic move is to wipe off the windshield and then get buried in the snow coming off the top of the car!
I remember the snow flying in our window on the highway because so many people had snow on the top of their car. Seems so dangerous considering the chunks that fly at you and blind your vision while driving 60 mph.
