My husband is so sweet.
I just found it on our doorstep. The mailman probably rang the doorbell while I was giving lil J a bath. I feel bad because some of the ladies are telling me that their husband said my husband is still on a mission. I hope he gets to come back for thanksgiving. ...not that the war stops just because Americans want to eat a huge meal. It's one of the only times, outside of Christmas, that they bring good (gourmet) food to them. Mr. J's letter said all the guys that are with him have only had MRE's, cereal, and coffee/tea since Oct 2nd. So... instead of thinking of himself, he sent his family a meal to eat. 
...even though I told him I had a place to go for Thanksgiving. I'd trade meals with him in a heartbeat! I love MRE's although it's been a long time since I've eaten one. He'll be so happy to come back from his mission to see sheepie cards and packages with goodies to eat!  |

I woke up this morning and looked in the refrigerator ...and just smiled. Even though I don't like "thanksgiving foods" ...it's still like receiving roses from a guy you just met. 
MRE's are meals ready to eat. The foods are all all packaged in a small plastic. It's not food that would sell if it were packaged and put on grocery shelves. It's what people would eat if they were stuck underground for several years, camping, in the field, etc. Chef boyardee type food/consistency comes to mind but doesn't have any flavor, which is why each contains a mini size container of tabasco sauce. I know so many people who use the entire thing for each meal. |

I hope everyone knew I meant Thanksgiving and not Christmas. Kinda early to be sending a meal for that.

| lisa, What do you call frozen dinners then? That's what we call tv dinners here. MRE's are not something a soldiers would say they enjoyed in front of a tv. |
