Our Christmas Card & Picture

They came out soooooooooo good!!! :cheer: But hubby says I shouldn't post it. I need to let it be a suprise when you all get your christmas card.

Nobody I work with understands about being a sheepie person. So when you show them the card, they say "That's nice" (in that insincere Southern way) and then roll their eyes at me like I am nuts.

:lmt:

Ok, so maybe I am a little nuts.

I'm so happy for you!!! I can't wait to see it.

I agree with your hubby. Don't post it!!!! Let it be a surprise for us!! Then post them on here after everyone has got them (probably a week after you mail them out)?

I especially want you to wait because I'm trying my best to wait too ;) :)
"Bless her heart, Did you see Wynette's Christmas card?"
If you would email me your card pictures, I could use them in the calendar. . . I've been worried about how to fill December since I used all last year's in this year's calendar. Or maybe Ron could make a secret album that only moderators can see?
Ron, Thank you so very much - I needed that.

L - Ok I will hold off posting until you do.
I understand you from one sheepie mom to another LOL.

WOO HOO this is so exciting I got my 2nd card today all the way from Canada, the photo is hilarious and a nice set of choppers he has.

This is so much fun, I am half way through doing mine, still lots to write on and finish. :phew:

We are going away for the weekend so the cards are going too, so I can finish them & post away as they are all going international.

YAY bring on christmas, I love this. :ghug:
yeah, my husband couldn't believe there was someone wanting to be on the exchange that was in aus. he felt so bad for you because of the POSTAGE!!!
Actually it is not too bad, here we have a christmas stamp specifically for christmas cards, one rate for every country around the world. It is cheaper then the normal international rates, no price by weight. :D

Heck christmas only comes around once a year

What? What did I say?

I'm just a Northerner...

My Aunt told a story I can't quite remember about the difference in the way people (Northerners vs Southerners) react to a driver going 20 miles an hour on the highway, and I remember only part of the end which was "In Alabama, they say 'Bless her Heart' first".

Unfortunately, I don't recall any more of it and she passed away this past year.

They can't help it Wynette, they just don't get it. I am constantly
amazed how wide the gap is between people like us who really
love our dogs and those who don't get it at all. I was at Wal Mart
tonight looking for something for my dogs and had to ask a
stock person (- they didn't have it -) he says, well it's only for
the dog, he won't know the difference. Well duh!!! I will !

I am so excited to see all the cards - I hope mine turn out ok

Lisa....that was Avalon....she was WooRooing and my daughter took the picture
I can't wait to start getting cards, too!

I'm still trying to figure out when/where/how to take the picture. :?

Ron -there's a book by Celia Rivenbark called "Bless Your Heart, Tramp" that humorously describes our southern peculiarity of covering a veiled insult by saying "Bless your heart" as in "Bless Her heart...she can't help she's not too bright...look at who her daddy was."

I was just writing what they might have said it after she was out of earshot...

I was trying to make a joke.

Where IS that angel icon?
Ron,

Don't worry - I understood the intent behind your reply and was thanking you for trying to make me feel better.

I love the idea of special rate postage in Australia for Christmas. How do you keep people from buying a bunch and using it on regular mail? Is it only good for a limited time?

PS - Our cards went out to the non-US people a few days ago - they should be appearing in a mailbox near you soon!
Mine are all done and just waiting for me to go to the post office, but I think I will wait until December (if I can, I’m showing them to everybody, so I think they are getting a little tired of me)
Mine are all done, too, just waiting for me to get them to the post office. I didn't want to send them just yet, though, because everyone would get them before Thanksgiving!! 8O

I'll send out the international ones probably the beginning of next week, then send out the domestics the week after Thanksgiving. This is going to be SO great!! I can't wait to start getting cards!! :yay:

You have to write on the Envelope "Card Only" and the stamps are for a limited time just for christmas cards. Local Mail for chrissy cards is the same too, cheaper then standard mail rates. They do that for the christmas season. :D
your avatar is the best lisa
 all mine is ready too.
I think I will send them next week
and I have also got 2 cards!!!!!!
I just picked up our christmas cards. I just hate the next step of writing all the addresses. At first, it's exciting, but then it's like.. good gracious, I have how many more?!?!?! ;) Wish I knew how to print off those address label thingies. 8)
I’m going to ask a stupid question  but my excuse is im Norwegian.... what date is thanks giving? (Can you tell that we aren’t celebrating that in Norway?)

It's next Thursday :) My son has all of next week out of school - I can't wait. I miss him home with me everyday! :)
Ihave been working on my cards tonight. I managed to finish 13 of them.
It is a lot of fun. I feel like I have all these new penpals. I am trying to write a note in each card. It just makes it more interesting for me and fun. I hope to finish them in about four days and then mail them out. I just can't wait to get my first card.
This is such a good idea. It makes me feel real happy. :D :D :D
I worked on my cards tonight as well. I got all of the out of country and Canada ones done. Now to work on the USA ones. Of yeah and then the family ones. (Notice that family goes last. You have got to appreciate that.)
I did ones for the family last too.
My family ones and friends can wait till next month, I have writers cramp. :P
Okay, maybe this is a little selfish of me, but I'm definitely using labels for the addresses. If I had to hand write all 58 addresses, I'd probably never send them!!

Jo, as for printing the labels, it's very easy. Just get 2 sheets of any label that has 3 columns of 10, or 30 labels per sheet, and each label is 1" by 2-5/8". Just put them in your printer and tell it to print the first two pages only. Voila! You're done!! :high5:
Yes -it's very easy to print the labels. I bought the store brand labels - plain white with 10 sheets in the package (300 labels) and they were less than $5 - I think $2-something actually.

Chris did all the hard work of formatting them -thanks!
