Just got our new puppy, Lillie!

We picked up Lillie yesterday, 11-11-06. We drove 6 hours to get her, then six hours back. Stopped for some necessary reasons, food, water and bathroom breaks... but I held her the whole trip home. Just couldn't let go.

We got home and introduced her to the yard, the house, etc. and she slept fine on her very own pillow bed til about 3AM, then came that little whimper, so she slept under the comforter between my husband and myself. (Lillie's choice)

We have had a great day today, boy I forgot how much puppies sleep. (Between eating shoelaces, tags, toys). Appetite is really good. She even howled a couple of times, not sure why though, inless it was to show off. She is a beauty.

Lillie is 7 weeks and 1 day old and weighs about 11 pounds. We go to the Vet. Monday.

What great people we got her from. Will post pictures as soon as I can figure how to.... would appreciate any help in this area. Thanks, and looking forward to posting in ANTICS next.

Michelle

Congratulations on your new puppy, Michelle!

Just a note of caution: Lillie's behavior should be YOUR choice, not Lillie's. Don't give in to her demands. Letting her have her own way now is cute but when she grows she will be difficult to handle. This is exactly why OES are notorious for training their owners and many are surrendered to rescue because of it. This goes for where she sleeps, whether she wants to be groomed, what furniture she's allowed on, how well she minds, etc.. It's fine to spoil our dogs but you have to remain in control.

You'll get lots of great advice from people here who have been through it all. Good Luck!!!
Welcome to you and Lillie. I bet she's just the cutest little fluffball.
As mentioned above - just make things your decision, not hers. What's cute now becomes annoying or even dangerous behaviors later. I know it's hard, but you will be happy later on.

Post pictures - we LOVE pictures, especially of cute puppies. :D
I was going to suggest what Maggie did as well. Remember who the alpha is! :)

Congrats on your new puppy. I know how difficult they are to let go of!!! We can't wait to see lots and lots of pics, and hear about your new one growing up.
