Can a dog see in the dark?

Can they see everything in pitch black or moonlight?
I have a home made peach pie riding on this issue with the hubby!

I found a site with some good explainations on canine vision

If course NOTHING can SEE in complete darkness... if you mean by "see" is to be able to detect and discern items that are silent...

But what does see mean and what does complete darkness mean? Does a bat using echo location "see"?
Do animals that can detect infrared, or ultraviolet and other wavelengths with their eyes "see"?

I don't know the answers to these questions, but if you're referring to a dog's ability normally to see in situations that people normally cannot... the answer is.... I dunno. :D
I'm not sure mine can see in the light!
