More potty training

Hi -

I was looking for a puppy and we finally found one. We got Lola about 2 weeks ago. She's just about 4 mos. and is adjusting pretty well.

She's still having some trouble with potty training. She does okay thru the night (some nites a puddle other not). But the problem is during the day, she just doesn't tell me or signal when she needs to go. If she does, it's so subtle I miss it.

What should I expect at her age as far as length of time? At night (we sleep for 8 hours) and I've left her for up to about 4-5 and she's been okay. But some times during the day she needs to go every 2-3. Is there anything I can do to help her communicate with me better?

Thanks.

If you do a search in the forum for threads with info on housetraining there is a wealth of information available. Pups generally can hold it longer and longer as they get older, and it really is important to keep routines if at all possible. Give her plenty of oportunities to be rewarded, positive reinforcement gets the idea through best. Some dogs never do develop a method of 'letting you know' that is vocal, some will simply look at you in a certain way, and you will eventually understand her body language.
