What can I use for a hair tie that my dog won't eat?

well olive's hair is now long enough to cause her to not see, however i am trying to let it grow out from her shaved look of the summer. any sugestions on dog friendly hair ties. Specifically ones that she won't be able to yank loose. i am worried if it falls out she will eat it, and that is a problem. :? so any sugestions would be helpful i feel bad because we were playing catch yesterday and i would through the ball and if she could not here it bounce she could not find it and i realized how badly she can't see.

I look forward to reading a respose to this too!

We're at an awkward hair stage where a topknot sortof helps but Barkley's hair just isn't long enough yet for a proper one. I only put it in for an hour or so at a time when I'm home (using one of my hair elastics) because he paws at it and I'm worried if he's left alone with it he might get it off and eat the hair elastic.
I am firmly convinced it doesn't matter what you use. They eat everything. Well London does.
I use toweling ties, but it does not stop them eating them :? Kelsey all her life has nicked the top knot ties out of first peppas head coat, now she does it to brie. 8) It makes for an interesting poop pick up in the yard, always colourful and what colour appears in todays lot.  I buy a bulk packet of them LOL

Little dental bands are great, one above each eye in a mini toppy knot till the head coat is longer, then you can advance to one band so they can see, when the head coat gets a bit longer. They come in packets of about 100, tiny little things that do stay in. You have to snip them when you want to remove them as they are hard to get out otherwise.
They have small tangle free hairties at the store, but I think they come out too easily, so I now use small rubberbands. I can wrap them around tighter, so they stay on longer.

Either,

I have to be pay attn, and notice when they are loose ...and redo it.

or

It falls out and Yuki doesn't notice, so I see it on the floor and pick it up.

or

she eats them.

To me, these are the only options I have known and accept.

It all comes out in the grass, so why stress... is how I treat things she eats now.
I have a barrett in Allies right now...The kind that you slide on, then snap down? Does that make sense? :? It is about 1-1/2in long, so I can get the hair above each eye in it...So far, she has not even noticed it is in. I have put it there 3 days in a row. But I am not doing it real tight, so I think it is not pulling on her hair...She looks so cute! Of course my husband does not care for it to much...

I just use normal hair elastics, generally the coloured ones and haven't had a problem with them being eaten so far thankfully.
I just use normal small hair elastics as well.
They stay in for up to a week.
WELL,....i bought a barrett like someone said. i felt it was sturdy enough for olive to not paw right off, however :? i took olive for a run that same night and all was going well i run left she goes left i run right she goes right. i run around a car... and BAHM she just ran right into it. so now i am thinging it may just be olive and not just that she couldn't see. the worst is she really hit it hard and it was getting dark olive of course was checked over first and other than a bruised ego she seems to be fine but futher inspection of the car (A BMW) and i find a dent in the bumper just about the size of olive's head. o' how di i tell the people that my dog ran into their car. i went back home and got a note to leave on the car because noone was at the house when i rang. god i am so embarrased and i think i am just going to lie and say i hit it with my bike. i am a horrible mother and the worst part is olive ran behind me the rest of the way home like she just knew if something else "jumped out" at her than i would crash into it first. must give her some credit for that one
