My Mother is Home from the Hospital!!!

She was released from teh hosptial today and sounds refreshed and glad to be home. She will now be under the care of her own doctor for advice and to monitor her health with new meds, and review test results etc.

She mentioned that one of my sisters sent her flowers with a balloon that said "Get Well Soon". When she was getting into the car today with her flowers the wind caught the balloon and blew it across the highway. She said they couldn't catch it, but they had a good laugh watching it go.

So thank you so much for the prayers, good wishes etc. She is a wonderful woman who always has good things to say about everyone. She is the one who will search out the quieter person at a gathering and get into a nice converstion with them so they feel included. She always seems to know what to say when. She has a knack for making everyone she meets feel very interesting and special.

I guess this whole situation at the hosptial scared us kids more than her. She is very religious and so is calm in times of stress. When her time comes she is ready to meet her maker, to see what his plans are for her.

Now I am more than ever ready to help her celebrate her 80th birthday in 2 weeks.

Thanks so much, folks. You don't know how much your warm sentiments support and medical information helped me through this.

Wonderful News Nicole, so glad your mom is out of Hospital and home, makes her up and coming 80th a really really special celebration now. Hugs to you all and special birthday wishes to your mom. :D

I picked up my mom yesterday, after two operations due to complications from the burst appendix, she is on the road to receovery also. Now I am the taxi service and home help for her :D Have to go and pick up a walking frame this afternoon just to help her get around without falling. Glad she is home now as I think the recovery will be better being in her own home. :)
Excellent news! She sounds like a great mom. :D

I'm glad to hear your mom is home and recovering nicely. It's such a worry when parents are not well. They are not supposed to get sick! Tell her to take it easy and recuperate so she can enjoy all the upcoming holidays and especially her birthday!
Nicole: GREAT NEWS YOUR MOM IS HOME!!! :D I am so happy to hear that. I was wondering how she was doing. Now your Mom has to look forward to her wonderful 80th birthday in a couple of weeks and the great dinner/party her children have planned. Take care and keep us updated. :ghug:

Good to hear!!!!!

Mayber for her birthday, you can send her some of that hospital food she loves so much.
Oh Elissa, you are BAAAADDD (as Bruno from dancing with the stars would say :D )

Nicole, Glad your mom is home and recovering nicely...she is the type of person that I would love to sit and talk with...I love talking to my next door neighbors 83 yr old mother...she is just a kick!!

Lisa, Glad that your mom is on the road to recovery too. I had my appendix out when I was 17....it hurt then, so I can only imagine how she feels now! Dont make her laugh too hard and have a little baby pillow for her to hold against her stomach...for some reason that really seemed to help me....especially when I laughed!
I'm glad she's doing better! I know it's very stressful worrying about your loved ones!

And Lisaoes, glad your mom is better too!
WooHoo!!!
Hoping for a speedy recovery for your mom!
