We are doing Invitro...update

Okay, this will be my last update...the next one will be to announce the pregnancy.

I saw the dr yesterday to follow up, and get the next stuff started.

He informed me that Calgary has about a 5 mth wait time, but would get us on there asap...see if we get in earlier. Calgary has a top line fertility clinic which does alot of invitro. However it is a 3 hour drive, one way...and I would be expected to be there everyday for stuff. Pretty inconvienent...for the family.

Then he says the Edmonton clinic will be finished and we can get in and start in April 07. Hubby wants to stay with this Dr, because he is good at what he does, and he did my surgery, and he is great. It also means a savings because we won't have travel expenses. This Dr has also performed many invitro's so he has a good success record. He knows we won't have any problems.

So now it's a matter of waiting, and getting ourselves prepared financially, and shopping for a bigger house....maybe. I will most likely have twins.

So look for a big fat positive in May. It will be about a 6 week process.

Good luck!! I hope all goes well. My SIL said she couldn't go through all the shots and medicine anymore for her invitro, but of course it will be worth it. She's due on Christmas, but she may go any day now (having twins). Her dr has Never had a mom have to go into the clinic for babies born TOO early, so hopefully she'll hang in there for a few more weeks (at least 34 weeks)! She said she was given a choice in her treatment, and she asked for the one most likely to give her twins since they had already tried a few times, and had been trying in general for 8+ yrs. Guess it worked :lol: She originally had triplets in her belly, but I probably already told you that. Will you have a higher chance of twins as well?
Good Luck!
Does insurance pay for this or is this all out of pocket? I've read that the treatment can cost well into the $20,000s.
Canada = "free" healthcare!

I'm not sure of the limitations of Alberta's coverage, but fertility treatments may or may not be included. Obviously Daisie can answer that one.
Forgot to say.... GOOD LUCK!

Sounds like everything should go smoothly. Twins would be fun! :?
Best of luck to you!
Good luck this spring! If it's twins,you will have a good time, and being 2 of them, they really help entertain each other.

I hope their construction plans stay on schedule for your sake. :)
Best of luck to you! Here's hoping for a swift appointment and a successful invitro!!!!
I am crossing my fingers for you! Best of luck!!!!!!!!!!!!
