outside ears matting help
How do I get them out without hurting him little balls at the ends do I have to shave it off ? Help! He is going for pro grooming and bath next Tuesday. |

| You need to comb the ears every week while you groom the rest of the dog... if there are small mats you can comb them out, carefully, little bits at a time. Always go in the direction of the ear to prevent injury to the delicate skin there...
If it's matted too badly it might be better to just shave it off. |
| I actually take the clipper down the inside flap of the ear and thin out the hair a bit, too. Take a look at Carl's ear plucking essay. I actually clip the parts on the outside of the ear canal that he plucks. I know his way is the better way but, as we don't show, and I don't like plucking, the clipper method works fine for us. |
