Mammogram Update

I went this morning and good news. I had 3 cysts right behind one another and they stuck a needle in my boob and drained all of them. &^%$ that hurt, I'm sure everyone in the waiting room heard me scream when they put it in. They removed the fluid and sent it to the lab. I have a number of small cysts in both breast and was told just to watch them and if they surface again to call and they will remove them.

They also did a mammogram (which didn't hurt) and everything looks fine. What a huge relief.

Thanks you everyone for all your support and prayers.

phew! the needle in the boob doesn't sound pleasant!
Phew and OUCH! All at the same time. Glad it was something not too serious!!!
:cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

WOOHOO!!! Hurray for good news. Sorry about the needle in the boob, I know how unpleasant that is!!!!

Soooooooooo glad your result was good.
Yippee!! :yay: SO glad the news is good. Although the needle in the boob was unpleasant, it beats what the alternative diagnosis could have been!!
I am so glad it was nothing serious.
Glad to hear it was nothing serious.... but YEOUCH!! That needle sounded painful! Are they running more tests on the fluid they sent to the lab?
Congratulations brave girl!
Glad it's over and you got good results!!!!!!!!!!
That's great!
So happy to hear the good news!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the update !
:D That is such GOOD news!!!!!!!!!!!! :cheer: :go:
Were you at the Royal Alex...any chance you and I were there at the same time...I was in admitting on the day surgery ward at about 11 am-2:30 pm. My surgery was around 2:45 pm...I left the hospital by 7:30 pm I'm leaving a new post on the results.

Glad you are okay, a mammogram itself sucks, but needles in the boob can't be fun...glad they were just cysts. Hopefully they stay away, I get tiny ones, that usually surface and go away. They are painful little things tho.
My mom has to get hers exsised(sp?) every few yrs.....Mine are left alone thank goodness!!

Glad youre okay!!
SO glad the news is good. :yay:
Glad it all went well, boy the things us women have to have done :?
Glad your diagnosis was good! :D
Hi,

Big hugs to you for all your went through and glad to hear all went well.

Needles anywhere aren't fun, but that sounds especially nasty. Glad all is well, if not painful.
Well I thought it would feel alot better after they drained them but guess what? I ended up in the Emergency room Friday night. They filled back up by 7:30 Friday night. It was just as big and even more painful. I called Capital Health link (you speak to a nurse and she tells you what they think you should do and she said to go to the ER.) Well 3 hours later and I wanted to kill the male doctor. He tells me to suck it up and live with it. He thinks that they filled up with blood and eventually it would go away. I said to him (much to my Mother's dismay) "How about I stick a needle in your sac, drain some fluid and see how you feel in 8 hours." My Mom wanted to die  . He offered me some Tylonel 3 (which I declined, I have percocet). I was livid when I left. needless to say I sat on the couch with an ice pack on my boob for most og the weekend. Some male doctors are so clueless. I still have a lump but it feels like it's going down a little.
OH SWEETIE!!! OUCH! What a jerk. He needs to go back to that class about bedside manner!!!!
I'm glad it's going down a little but does that mean he was right?

Believe me, I'm sensitvie to your needs but I'm a bit confused. What did you want from the doctor? Sensitivity? THAT I can understand!!! But did you want him to do something physical for you, like re-injure your biopsy with another needle stick?

Unfortunately he's likely not a breast specialist, so there probably isn't much he can do for you unless it's life-threateneing, in which case they might call in an off duty specialist, or your own doctor.

#1 rule: Don't get sick on the weekend!!!

Anyway, get on the phone to the doctor that did the biopsy today!
Oh I LOVED your responce to the Doctor. How Funny.
Loved your response to him!! He'd have to sit on the ice pack, you could at least recline in comfort.

I hope this is not a reoccuring problem as it can lead you to some dramatic solutions. One was what my secretary had done: since she wasn't having kids, she had her's scooped out and refilled in inplants 8O . Seemed drastic, but from what you just went thru, many more of these and you might be thinking along the same line.

Then my aunt, at at 70 was tired of 50 years of having cysts aspirated and went for a major reduction.......from a DD to an A cup. She said at 70 nobody was interested in her chest anymore so why not be flat

I sincerely hope this was a one time incident and never more will you be bothered.......once this swelling goes down.

That's a drag. I thought you handled the UNCARING Dr. rather well. Maybe he'll think twice before brushing off the next female. Hope your pain subsides.
