Hope you all have a great weekend and enjoy your turkeys and pumpkin pies!

Can Barkley have a taste of turkey? Or is that a really bad idea....

Happy Thanksgiving! Of course, Barkley can have turkey. You may want to put tiny pieces in his bowl though. Otherwise you might create a monster table begger :D
Happy Thanksgiving!!
Speaking of Turkey, my furkids are all eating turkey necks right now.
You should see Chili rip at it  Pepsi is not eating his because he let Rags take it from him. What a PIG!
Happy Thanksgiving all you Canadians!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL OUR CANADIAN FRIENDS!!! Have a great time and enjoy the extra day off!
Have a great Thanksgiving. Love Turkey, save some for the pooches.
Hi Everyone,

Thanks for the Happy Thanksgiving eh? :excited:

I started cooking the feast yesterday at 10 am. My older son got off work at 3pm in downtown Vancouver and works later all weekend, so we decided to have it at his tiny place this year. I loaded everything up along with my younger son and we picked him up. The smell of Turkey and all the trimmings in the van. We were all salivating by the time we drove the 1/2 hr to Vancouver.

Then on to pick up my older son's grandma whom is in an assisted living facility. She's still very young and beautiful looking but sadly has Altizmers (sp?). The facility was in the core of Vancouver's downtown and I was a bit panicked driving my big ole van there..worse the power steering fluid was low and I couldn't take the cap off. Thus each time I turned and manuervered it sounded like a sherman tank.

Dinner was wonderful! Just opened up the boxes, table was already set, warmed up the sweet potato pie and voila! Dinner was served!

Leaving my son at his place and saying goodbye as he had to work in the morning, my younger son and I drove his grandma home. The doors to the facility have cameras, so going in was no problem. Leaving was another story...hey how come no one told me you needed to press a code to leave? :D

Returning home, I felt that this was one nice Thanksgiving..quiet and I almost feel quilty saying this but kinda nice without the "boys" hovering like sharks in a feeding frenzy. Don't worry! I saved them leftovers!!! Tonight , they'll enjoy their Thanksgiving.
Have a great Thanksgiving. :)
Happy Thanksgiving to all our Canadian friends!! :D

I'm glad I saw this -I was thinking it was next week!
We get to have our big turkey dinner today (my parents held off because I was out of town for dog shows  )

I LOVE turkey dinners, with everything... LOL but I cannot cook it myself. I never have... LOL
Someday maybe... but I doubt it.

Happy Thanksgiving!! :)
Happy belated Canadian Thanksgiving!! :D

The dinner is actually one of the few I can do. Otherwise Todd does most of our cooking, thank goodness!
I ate too much - I don't feel so good 8O . We had turkey, ham, mashed potatoes. gravy, corn, stuffing, dressing, buns, salad, turnip, carrots, pumpkin pie with whipped cream and chocolate ganache cake - No wonder I don't feel so good :(
We had our dinner yesterday...turkey,mashed potatoes...etc. My older boy was down from University for the weekend. It was sooooooo nice to have him around for those 2 days.

And one of my younger boy's friends was over, and they weren't celebrating as the family is split up and don't get along. So we asked him to stay, too. Seems we always have someone "extra" at our place for these types of dinners

This morning we sent off my older son on the plane for his return trip..

Then we did a home visit for a rescue sheepie. More about this on another thread
I am soooo full.... 8O
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. The weather was absolutely beautiful and after 2 turkey dinners it was great to play a little football yesterday to work it off.

Fridge is full of leftovers! Yum yum!

Leftovers are my favorite part of Thanksgiving. :D

My husband like to make Turkey Tamales with the leftovers and they are YUMMY! Plus turkey sandwiches and all the other side dishes.
Hmmm... I just might have Thanksgiving here this year just for that reason.
Also I am really good at cooking Turkey. :)
It's just a question of where to put everyone 8O

Pepsi's Mommy: Could you please post how to make Turkey Tamales in the cooking section?!? They sound yummy!
Well I had my Thnaksgiving dinner Sunday and boy was I a little piggie. Baba made a Ukranian feast (a first for Mike). We had Turkey, Stuffing, Ham, Kubasa, Perogies, Cabbage Rolls, Cornmeal, these dumpling things in a cream sauce, (I can't remeber what they are called), mashed potatoes, mushroom gravy, carrot and corn, salad, buns, Pumpkin pie, Apple pie. I was so full I could barely move Sunday night. I've never seen Mike eat so much. He asks me during dinner if all family dinners are like this. I said yep, he replied "I can't wait for Christmas dinner". My Mom burst out laughing. I'll be eating at Baba's all week. I love Turkey!!!
