I'm Back From Vegas

Since some of you were saying it was a slow day here, I thought I'd liven up your day with a report about our trip to Vegas.

The excitement began before we even left Michigan. Somehow, we seriously underestimated the time it took to get to the airport during rush hour. So, rather than getting there an hour ahead of time, we got there 15 minutes before takeoff. If the airport shuttle van hadn't shown up when it did, we never would've made it because when we got to the desk, we got reprimanded for being late and were told that we weren't going to make it. They said, "You can try but you'll have to run but your bags probably won't make this flight." We didn't care about that so we RAN. We took off at top speed through the airport and made it just as the girl was going to close the door. We made it just in the nick of time. Also, sometime on the run, a button popped off my pants so they were half off by the time I got on ther plane.

Did I also mention that I've got a horrible cold and have been running a fever since Saturday? When we got on the plane, I'm sure I looked like the guy that started the Motaba epidemic from Outbreak. I saw people cringing at the sight of me coming down the aisle. Anyway, we made it and, even better, so did our bags but they both had giant scarlet tags that said LATE BAGGAGE. It made it much easier to find. ;)

We both ended up really sick when we got there but we still had a great time. We did a little gambling, made some money, went and checked out where we'd be getting married and did some shopping. We also went and checked out The Bodies exhibition at the Tropicana. It was really cool, they took human bodies and removed all the water and replaced it with silicone polymer. It showed how all the parts worked, all the layers of muscle, nerves, veins arteries-- everything. It was so cool.

I can't wait to go back in April-- but I'd better not be sick then!

:( :( What a sad beginning to a trip! I'm glad it turned out well in the end, but WHAT a start! 8O
Glad the trip turned out to be much better than the beginning. The Body looks really cool. I think it was here in Chicago but we didn't see it for some reason.
What an adventureous start to your trip!

We went to the BodyWorlds exhibit at the Ontario Science Centre in Toronto awhile back and it was very cool. I thought it would be gross but it was amazing! There was even a woman who had died while pregnant (and had signed up for body donation before death) and you could see the baby in her tummy, which was really neat.

When are you getting married? Can't wait to see wedding photos!
To bad you had such a stressful start to your trip. Thank goodness you and your luggage made it!

They have the Body tour in Minneapolis right now - held over for 2 extra months due to popular demand. I have 'til Dec 5th to see it.
Sorry you were both sick.
But at least it didn't stop you from having a good time. :)
I LMAO at the comment about the late baggage tags.
Wow, sounds like your trip went by super fast and was hectic. At least it sounds like you made the most of it. Hope you're feeling better. I got sick too (and lil J and my husband) a few days before he left. We think it was from traveling to TX.
Whew, what a trip!!! Glad you made the plane.

I saw the "bodies" when they were in NYC, JUST AMAZING. I highly recommend it to anyone who has the opportunity.
Sounds like quite an adventure. I might see that body show myself. It's looks amazing. Kind of like when you live in CA you never go to Disneyland. Kind of like that in Vegas. You live a "normal" life. Or.......maybe what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas........... :yay: :lmt:
