Garage interior design...for storage/work area

Looking for an effiecient layout to design a two car garage.

We finished our under deck shed...almost, we have to leave the rest for next year.

Now we want to make our garage a true mechanics dream...lots of storage, tidy, have tools accessible like a peg board or something. But keep it under 3 ft wide.

Do you have any cool pictures of your garage to give us idea's? Or a great website we can go to?

You first need to make a list of everything you plan to put in this area.
Then figure out if you want each item to hang, go in a drawer or on a shelf.

My son is a mechanic and his tool chest is over 5 feet wide. It is professional grade, cost a bunch and will last forever.

Don't forget lighting and electrical outlets. You can never have too much of either.

We have Elfa shelving in our garage. I hung the top top rails on three of the garage walls, so I can move the shelving anytime our needs change.
We have some pegboard for our smaller yard tools and misc stuff. I also have some Metro shelving to hold heavy stuff - it is easy to reconfigure as our needs change.

I am fortunate that I live about 10 minutes from The Container Store. They helped me figure out a basic layout and then I could pick up the parts a little at a time. I absolutely refuse to think about much it cost. But it was five years ago and I still love it.
Thanks, I wish we had the Container store....we have Home Depot, Rona...but they don't have a display, just the pieces.

Our garage only has 2 plug ins...we are third owners, and it drives us nuts not having enough plugs.

I do want some cupboards, enough space to buy a small freezer, the rest will be for tools (not garden tools..we have a shed), and I want a multi function easy to get to thing for screws, nails etc.

We have two long, high shelves for large boxed items that are seasonal...they are close to ceiling, the ladder hangs on the wall under one. And we want to hang our bikes from the ceiling.

I guess I will just keep thinking, and planning. I'd love to get a small mechanic's chest...but they are so expensive.
