Help? Baby with diareah

My 10 week old that I just got has been going potty just fine until today. I'm cooking up some white rice, but what should I give him? He's acting perfectly "puppy". The only thing that might have caused it is that I'm feeding a different brand of puppy lamb & rice kibble and he's had a couple of puppy milkbone biscuits. :(

The brand switch could definitely do it. If he's running a temp, starts acting any differently or it doesn't clear up within a day, definitely call your vet. If there are worms or blood, also a vet call. They may also be able to give you some tips over the phone. If the pup hasn't been to the vet since you got him, I'd make the trip for a good once over anyway.
You can put some low sodium broth or fried and drained hamburger with the rice to make it more appealing, just a little though.

After this passes, he should be put on the same brand of food that the breeder was feeding and slowly switched over to the brand that you prefer. Make sure it's a high quality food!

Good luck and when in doubt, call the vet!
ditto!

Good luck and welcome!
Oh, thanks to both of you! I already knew about the switching gradually into a new food, but I just didn't do it. I took Jammer to the vet the day after I got him for a puppy check up and I was supposed to take a stool sample back and I had a normal one in a baggy and I walked right out the door without it. Just my luck, now I have to pick up an icky one and take it in. On the breeder's shot list it showed that she had wormed him two or three times already and I didn't see anything in his potty, but I guess it could be parasites. I also have a baby goat, well, 5 months old, and when he had diarrhea as a tiny kid, he was checked for parasites and had none; he was never, ever raised with goats sinice he was taken away from his mom right after his birth and I got him two days later, but Jammer has been routing through the grass and finding some tasty goat berries, so maybe that's contributing to his problem.
I gave him some rice and mixed in a little bit of yogurt; he ate some of it, but when I took him out of his kennel, he had sticky rice stuck to his little panda butt!
Welcome from MN! I love your avatar - is Jammer sitting on a dog??

The loose stools can be from so many things. 1st, of course, is to take the fecal in, like you are doing. If that is ruled out, it still can be from the diet change, water change, stress from leaving his previous home, eating goat turds or even more exercise.

Your puppy looks so cute, can't wait to hear more about him and more pictures.
Now, when I need this puppy to have an accident in the house, of course he won't. I'll have to wait until it gets light out to take him out in the darn rain and wait for something to happen.
No, Jammer was sitting on top of our stuffed almost full sized Collie. He does look just like a little Fozzy Bear stuffed animal. This is my first time with this breed; I'm used to my 3 Border Collies.
No temp, no parasites, no nothing, so I guess I was just a bad, bad mama. I got him the food that he was used to and the vet gave us an antibiotic just in case. This little guy is such a rag doll. I'm in California and everywhere I've taken Jammer, people say they've never seen an OES before, but then, neither had I.
I'm glad they found no problem. You weren't a bad momma! Dogs get stressed and ill and sometimes we don't know why.

Yay!

Just remember if you want to change foods, do it gradually.
Welcome,

Hope your baby gets to feeling better soon. I found out the hard way that food containing Lamb can be too rich for a dog. Also, I was told by a vet years ago that a milkbone is equivalent to a milk shake in human terms. Since then I've never given my dogs milk bones.

Hope things go well for you with your beautiful new sheepie.
Welcome!!

Feel better soon! It stinks when they don't feel well!
