Christmas Card exchange

Please don't throw your computer at me for bringing this up ALREADY, but I'm the type that likes to be PREPARED  Last year the HIGHLIGHT of my hoiday was the Christmas Card exchange so I was wondering if anyone else is EAGERLY anticipating it and if so WHEN we should start.

OF COURSE, as always we need someone with computer savey to coordinate it.........HINT HINT HINT, It has been done in past years by an EXCEPTIONALLY talent young lady..........HINT HINT HINT so I'm wondering if she'll do it again THIS YEAR :yay:

I didnt do it last year, but I am in for this year!!!!!!!!

Sigh, Ginny, youre almost as bad as Costco. Its not even Holloween and they have their Christmas stuff up...... 8O
Well, sometimes it takes AWHILE for the ball to get rolling. I didn't want ANYONE to miss out on the GREAT OPPORTUNITY
It’s good planning to start the Christmas preparation already, I’ve been shopping for Christmas presents already...... 8O

But I always start early, and then it somehow just fades out..... Until 23. December.
:?
A woman after my own heart. I always plan early...unfortunately, I get driven nuts by people who don't plan. I haven't done the card exchange in the past but I'm in this year. Just have to figure out who will take a picture of the four of us this year. It might be a bit more challenging this year than when it was just Annie!
That's so funny because I was thinking about making this thread a few days ago.

STORES ALREADY HAVE SANTA CLAUS OUT!!!!

I think it would be nice to start a little earlier this year so we can have our OES cards out "for show" when we have guests over during the holidays. :)
Actually, since we get paid bi-weekly, it really hits home... if you think of it this way, only 6 more paychecks til xmas! 8O

Or... only 91 days 8O

So yeah, good to get organized now! LOL

I'm in :D I loved it... and I hate to admit this  but I still have all the lovely pics of everyone's oes that they sent up on my office wall by my computer. I just love them :)
I want to make a big collage of all the pics, laminate it, and hang it above my computer. :)
I'm in this year
OK, I'm too new. What does the card exchange involve?? It sounds fun.
Last year I thihnk there were around 75 people signed up. Someone puts together the mailing list of anyone interested in participating and emails it to all involved. You then send Christmas Cards to everyone on the list, AND YOU GET CHRISTMAS Cards from everyone on the list.

It's REALLY alot of fun. Here is a picture of all the cards I got last year (I still have them). With the cost ofpostage and cards it's not "cheap" but it was the best money I spent last Christmas (or what ever holiday you celebrate in December  )

Count me in this year!
Do the cards you send out have to have your sheepie's pic on them? Cuz if so, I can't participate (sheepie-less). If not, I would loff to be in!
I missed out on it last year, but I'm in for this year!!

If it's only a case of gathering mailing addresses and e-mailing them to all involved, I can do that. Don't know if Katie (coordinator last year) is still reading the forum and if she is - please don't think I want to take away your brainchild! I'd be glad to give you the job, but in the event no one wants to do it, I volunteer my services.

If you're interested, please PM or email me with your mailing address.

Cool!!
We are in this year as well!!!!

Brenda, Dudley and Murphy
The Christmas card exchange last year was one of the highlights of the season for me. Every day I rushed out to the mail box.

Paula, you don't have to send pictures of yourself or your sheepie. It's not required. We'd be just as happy with a card or a picture of you & Bob!!

:cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

I know Katie has done it for the last couple years, she might be ready for a break. I lack the computer savey to undertake the task. I think all you really need is an address program.......but then what do I know!!!!
I'll PM Katie and see what she says.
You don't even need an address program, all you need is excel or access.

See.... WHAT DO I KNOW

COuld I make one suggestion.......... this year it would be very helpful if we could list the screen name with the address. Last year I felt bad because I didn't always know WHO someone was!!!!!!!!!!!
I have all the Microsoft Office products, so I can do the list in either Word or Excel. Have but am not familiar with the Access program. I'm assuming that the receiver would have to have those programs too, to be able to open the document.

Paula...

Maybe you could get a picture of yourself with all the pups at SheepieFest!!
I'm in this year :yay:
That is another reason to start early, the "Out of Country" cards take alot longer to be delievered!! It was so exciting last year to receive cards from all over the WORLD!!!!!!!

Yes it do
You have to count from 8 to 10 days
Oh, thanks for the answer. It sounds like fun. I always send cards out, so sending some more and getting a bunch more would be great. Count me in!!
So the “out of country” forumist can participate??
This sounds like a great idea:-)
MOST DEFINATELY!!!!!

The only thing is that it will cost your out of country folks a bit more (postage). Those of us in the US only have to pay extra postage on a handful of "OUT OF COUNTRY". For you most will be to the US. BUT BELIEVE ME, We LOVE getting cards from far away
Count me in. If anyone needs help either inputting or working with Access, Excel or Word let me know. If not everyone has Excel or Word - it can be printed out, scanned and saved as either a jpg (picture) or a pdf (adobe) file. That way everyone would have access to it.
Then you can count me in :D :D
Ann...lol...I love Molly's pink pad! Panda's used to be pink, but some of her black spots started showing up on the bottom of her foot :D
I wanna play too!
I am in too. Should we start PM our addresses to Chris (Drezzie's Mom)? Also if you use excel you can make labels directly from the spreadsheet so that participation is easier if you don't want to handwrite out addresses or if time is of an issue.

Could we add the sheepies names into the spreadsheet in addition to the screen name?

This is so exciting
See my separate post about sending me the info.

I can do it in either Word or Excel, and I can set it up for labels from either program. We'll just have to make sure everyone uses the same labels. I'm more familiar with Word, but I can do Excel if it's better for most people.

Yippee!!
