PEED DOWN THE VENT!

Happy Jewish New Year, Grandma! My inlaws came out to my Mom's place for holiday dinner last night. We're eating our matzo ball soup and Fozzie is looking out the patio door...or so we thought! We hear him tinkling on the carpet! Steve goes to investigate when Foz is finished and says, "He peed down the vent!" 8O  Fozzie made a full blown pee down the floor vent! There were only a few splashes on the actual grate and next to nothing on the carpet. I'm so embarrassed and feel so bad. How the heck will the pee come out? Will her house smell like ammonia now when the air is blowing????

Nope... Sky has done it too....
Oh my gosh Stacy. I hope Grandma isn't too mad at cute little Fozzie.
  Oh, you gotta love em!

Nature's Mircle or other enzyme pee eliminator on a rag, mop, whatever....remove vent cover and swab out the vet. If you belong to Sam's, get some OdoBan to finish up.

I just hope there aren't too many twists in the vent tube to get down or else you'll be looking at a flexible rod or plumber's helper.........

Hey, when you gotta go and don't know where the bathroom is, you make do!

You may still be out a professional vent cleaning........LOL

I should stop laughing, sounds like something Jack would do..........

I feel your pain but I can't help laughing

 :yay:

Oh the things they do!!
LMAO. Sorry but thats so funny. Maybe he like to warm air while he pees.
lol...I had to laugh at this one....growing up in MI, I always used to sit on the vent with my shirt pulled over my knees to get warm....I dont think Id sit on that one though, at least for a while.......Thankfully ours out here are high up on the wall.
I though my sister and I were the only one's whio did that growing up. First thing in the morning while Mom was making breakfast.
and fight over it!
Yep, I always got the one in the kitchen!!!!

OMG! I didn't read Darcy's post and just read your post on page 2. I thought you wre saying you and your sister peed down the vents 8O 8O 8O
I do have a friend who used to pee in the corner of her room onto the carpet during the night when we were kids 8O
LOL, read the whole thing Stacey. I spit coffee all over my screen
If you grew up in Minnesota before central heating, you learned to hop out of bed and stand over the floor grate to catch the heat rising from the kitchen wood burning stove so you wouldn't freeze while trying to dress.

Not being quite as ancient as my husband, all I can add it, thank heavens for central heating!!!!
Sorry but thats so funny
Mine did the same thing when I first got him. I have a spray bottle ready with a mix of rubbing alcohol, vinegar, water and a few drops of dish soap and sprayed and wiped it w/ paper towel. If it's just pee on metal, it'll be easier to clean than when it goes into the padding under carpet. And it's dry air going through the vents, so it's just going to dry up if you miss any. We've had the heat on a few times since and it doesn't smell.

I also had my rabbit go into the furnace duct once - he removed the vent and went for a stroll throughout the whole vent duct system (he's a strong rabbit weighing in at 12 lbs.). He eventually came back out. That doesn't smell either and I know he must have pee'd in there as he was in it for a half day. It was a terrifying event.

All else fails I know furnace people can come out and clean the vents, but it's costly. They could just do the area where he went though.
Our sheltie did that about a year ago. I wish I had thought of Nature's Miracle at the time. The smell
would permeate whenever the heat came on and I would stand over the heater with the most disgusted and frustrated looks, not knowing what to do. You have to laugh, but sometimes that is not your first response to something like that!
