Has anyone given a Gift Stethoscope for a graduating Doctor or Nurse? Or for a retiring Doctor or Nurse?
Is it appropriate to give a stethoscope as a gift?
How much does it cost to give a gift stethoscope?
Are there different types of stethoscopes for different specialties?
Does fit matter?
Thanks. |

| I think that would be a fine gift! I know nothing about them. Maybe Ginny has some ideas on brands and fits..... |
The BEST scope is a Littmann, they run from $60.00 to over $300.00. I have several good stethascopes, my FAV is my Littmann Cardiology II (a gift ) |
| Ditto the above. Mine is a Littmann Classic II. Less expensive than Ginny's, but still a good stethascope. (Mine wasn't a gift - I had to buy it myself!) |
| I like the Littman too and yes I have given one to graduating nursing students. I actually got one as a going away/changing hospitals gift one time. It is nice to have one at home and one at work. We have horses and actually have one (a cheaper one ) in the barn. When I was a school nurse I had a two or three in my office to teach parents what their childrens lungs sounded like durning an asthma attack. Yes there are different price ranges and types. I guess it depends on the specialty the nurse/physican practices. One size fits all. |
