Tormenting Little Sister

Sometimes it cracks me up just how clever sheepies can be! 8)

Last night was a pretty busy night, so Callie didn't get as much play time as usual and she had a lot of energy to burn. Jon and I sat down on the couch to read our Bibles and Callie kept bringing us her ball. We said, "Not now, it's quiet time." She knows what that means, and she hates it. She gave that little grunt/growl noise that we call 'talking back' because it's just like a teenager mumbling under their breath as they walk away.
Lambda, our pug, was resting under the ottoman, so Callie disappeared down to the basement. A few minutes later she reappeared with Lambda's favorite bone. :bulb:
She circled the ottoman several times, making sure she caught Lambda's attention, and then she dropped the bone several feet away, hoping to entice the puppy out from her hiding spot. Sure enough, when Lambda came out to get her bone, Callie pounced on her and the wrestling match was on.

People say that dogs can't really reason or use logic, but I'm not convinced that this is true......

What an imp!

Great story!
Violet does a similar thing to my Aussie Shepherd, China. When we give them new "bities" when I turn my back Violet will snatch both of the bities and put them in front of her and watch to see if China will come in and ger her's. China won't because Violet will growl at her or give her "the evil eye." When I see Violet doing this I walk up and pick up China's "bitie" and hand it to her and tell Violet not to do that anymore. (she ignores me and does it anyway) This little cherade usually goes on for about 4 or 5 days and then Violet stops teasing China with the bitie.

funny story! Glad you got one of the smart sheepdogs! While she may drive you nuts, continue to encourage her problem solving! This girl should do well in obedience and agility........but then maybe not  She might march to her own drummer.........
Funny story!
She's smart!
Yup, she's smart! :)
She's a bright girl! You should try getting her some of those puzzle toys for her to "solve" She'll probably do well with them and it will keep her occupied!
What a smart girl, Callie! That is the cutest story.
Definitely a clever girl.
