Panda is snuffling..

Brian called at 7:30 this morning, he said that he was up with Panda from about midnight to 2 am. She, I guess, was breathing hard through her nose...blowing in and out really hard, not through her mouth. Brian asked if she had ever done that before and I said no. He is going to keep her quiet today, and if it happens again, take her to a vet in San Diego, otherwise, he may bring her home early. Should I make a vet appt. now and take her first thing on Monday or should I wait to see her?

Why does this happen when Im so far away?

It happens so that you worry more and can't be there to fix it!

It could be allergies or a dry/irritated throat or an obstruction. If she's not doing it anymore, I would wait and see what happens.
He should be able to check her for proper oxygenation and all that stuff. Unless he freaked out and forgot all of his training since it's his kid!
I think it's a law somewhere that things like this only happen
when we are away or it's the least inconvenient time.

Is there any discharge when she snuffles? Is her nose runny or
anything like that? Any sneezes? Could just be a cold. I would
wait and see if anything develops. Unless it is a violent type
snuffling. Could be she has gotten a hair or some other foreign
object deep in her nose. When my dogs have done this they
eventually break into a series of huge sneezes. And I do mean
huge, body jarring, head wagging from side to side sneezes.
Give it a day and see what happens - unless of course it
progresses into more than a snuffle before that.

Shellie
could it be possible that she aspirated some water when Brian had her at the beach? What would happen if she did??
Absolutely. The chance that it only affected her for 2 hours though seems a little much. She should be doing a little more coughing but it could just be irritation to her lungs or throat. If she's acting fine then it shouldn't be a problem. If he has his stethoscope, he could take a listen to her lungs, should be the same as a human. If he hears anything, I'd take her in to be looked at.
Poor Panda!

If you need my vet, let me know, although I don't know if Brian wants to travel all the way to Pt. Loma to see a vet!
Ill keep that in mind Steph....

Mandy, no he doesnt....

She better be alright, or Ill be kicking myself for letting her go back!
Kick Brian instead!
that too!! He just called. He said that she hasnt done it all morning, but is going to keep her calm. He thinks that she may have had an allergic reaction to some Panda Express that he gave her last night......sigh......dont even ASK why he would give that to her.....he needs a double kick!
What's Panda Express?
Chinese fast food?
What's Panda Express?

Hopefully it's nothing *hugs*
yup, fast food greasy chinese.....Brian?!
Maybe he thought itd be cute to give it to her because of the name...or more likely, men like to give dogs fast food...
poor girl, let's hope she's better!
