R.I.P Maxie Paws.... We loved you more than words can say.

RIP Maxie Paws. Mommy and Daddy love you to the sky and back. Today we had to make a very hard decision to let our sweet, sweet boy run free. I won't go into all of the details, but those of you that knew Max, understand about his back injury 7 years ago, and how he has struggled at times with mobility. As he has gotten older, it has become worse, and his back legs finally just wore out. We could not stand to have our baby struggle any longer, and even though I would have carried him forever, it wasn't fair to him. Four very wise and dear friends gave me things to ponder, and in the end, when we took him this afternoon to the Vet, we knew it would be his last journey. Max was the kindest soul I have ever know. When he was hurting, and we were upset for him, he gave US kisses. Never a mean bone in his body, only love and patience with people, or other animals. He rarely barked, and if he did, it was nothing more than a woof. I can't begin to eulogize him in a way that would do him proud. All I can say is we will miss him everyday, and our hearts have an empty place where our dear baby entered on the day we first met him. Run free Maxie Paws... go play with Stewart, and Reece Cup.... and tell God you like Wisconsin Cheddar, in a slice, not a chunk... with 4 star shaped ice cubes to wash it down. Momma and Daddy love you baby boy... forever and always. We hope you know how hard we tried to give you the best life possible. And, we hope you know how much joy you gave us, every single day of your life. :hearts:

Our baby. Yes Ron, I came here for answers when Maxie was first hurt. Val helped us through so much, as Chum had just had the same kind of surgery. That seems like a lifetime ago. I can thank Max for me finding this forum... and making some of the best friends I've ever had. :hearts:

I am so sorry to hear that sweet Max has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. He was such a sweet boy. He is going to be really missed.

Lori, I'm so sorry about Maxie Paws. He went through a lot and had you to love him every step of the way. I hope your heart stops hurting soon.

My heart sinks when I see a new post on this thread, as I know it means one of our beloved sheepies has gone over the Bridge. Your tribute to Maxie was beautiful, you did all you could for him. He is still with you, tucked inside your heart.

Thank you for all the kinds words about Max. I haven't been able to do much today... just sit around looking at pictures of him, wishing for one last kiss... being able to feed him his favorite cheddar cheese, just one more time. It's going to take a while...

Somehow I missed this earlier. I am so sorry for your loss. We have them for such a short time and you took such good care of him through all he had to endure. He will always be a part of your heart.
